Stepps Community Fire Station
North Lanarkshire
Located to the north-east of Glasgow,听Stepps Community Fire Station听provides fire cover to the villages of Muirhead, Chryston, Cardowan, Mount Ellen and Gartcosh.听 The building is purpose built and is easily recognisable, look for the training tower.听This Community Fire Station is operated by Scottish Fire and Rescue service personnel from the local community, there is 1 fire appliance and 12 firefighters. These firefighters either live 听and/or work in the communities they serve. The firefighters attend a vast range of emergency incidents as well as carrying out community safety visits to the local community.听

A听chance to meet some of these dedicated community firefighters and discuss their work.听听Sit in an operational fire engine and have a tour around the station. Community safety advice will also be provided. 听听Please note: fire engines may be unavailable at times as this is a working station.听听
